With inflation eating into consumers’ wallets and purses, it’s no surprise the economy will be first and foremost on Americans’ minds when casting their 2022 midterm ballots.
A Gallup poll released Oct. 31 confirms that the most basic of kitchen-table issues—the cost of groceries and gas — will influence how 98 percent of Americans vote in the Nov. 8 elections.
The Oct. 3-20 random-sample survey of 1,009 adults living in all 50 states and the District of Columbia found that 49 percent of respondents said the economy will be “extremely important,” 36 percent said it will be “very important,” and 13 percent said “moderately important” in determining who they vote for….
