Eczema, also known as dry dermatitis, is common in winter. When the temperature drops, the secretion of sebum decreases. Therefore skin moisture is lost easily. And the skin becomes dry, causing itching, inflammation, peeling, scaling, and other problems.
Hu Yihsuan, a dermatologist at the Yes Clinic in Taiwan, said that getting rid of dry skin can prevent eczema in winter. She also shared tips on how to prevent and deal with itching in winter, from bathing to food, clothing, home environment, and so on.
