An attempt to smuggle 84 illegal aliens across the U.S. border in the cargo area of a dump truck has been thwarted by border agents in Texas on Tuesday, officials say.
Robert Flores Jr., of Poteet, Texas, was arrested and charged with 84 counts of human smuggling on Oct. 25 after being stopped for a commercial motor vehicle inspection on Interstate Highway 35 in La Salle County, Texas, Christopher Olivarez, spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), said in a statement.
“During the stop, numerous individuals absconded from the truck’s cargo area into the brush,” Texas DPS said, adding troopers “discovered 84 illegal immigrants concealed inside the cargo area.”…
