Millions of Americans are still eligible to get a COVID-19-related stimulus payment, according to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in a recent update. Some homeholds, the IRS said, are eligible for a potentially large payment.
About 9 million primarily low-income individuals did not claim either all or portions of several stimulus payments that were sent out since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, said the agency in its release.
As a result, the agency is now sending letters to these millions of people, according to the IRS. The agency is also sending letters to families who didn’t claim Child Tax Credit (CTC), Recovery Rebate Credit (RRC), or Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), it said, adding that it applies to people who haven’t filed a 2021 tax return….
