In light of the DOJ’s indictment of Russian Oligarch Oleg Derispaska, we thought it worth examining Deripaska’s ties to various individuals involved with SpyGate. To be very clear from the outset, we are not attempting to argue that Derispaska is somehow a good guy or a white hat—quite the opposite. We think Deripaska may have effectively served as the originator of the Steele dossier in his ongoing quest for a U.S. Visa. But an examination of Deripaska’s contacts with a number of recognizable and notable figures over the years is surprisingly illuminating.
