House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) support of Taiwan has complicated the Biden administration’s efforts to curb tariffs against China, according to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
Raimondo said that Pelosi’s controversial visit to Taiwan last week made the administration’s strategy with China “particularly complicated,” regarding President Joe Biden’s efforts to curb tariffs on more than $300 billion in Chinese goods.
“Certainly, it has made it a little more challenging,” Raimondo said during an Aug. 10 interview with Bloomberg. “It’s harder, but I am hopeful that we will get beyond that and get back to a place where we can have more of those discussions.”…
