The United States is facing two rounds of high-impact snowstorms this week that will affect millions of people along its path, warned a weather forecasting service. The first storm, which will arrive around late Monday and last into Tuesday, is expected to be a low-pressure system that will strengthen as it moves from Oklahoma to Detroit, said Kirk Hinz, COO and chief meteorologist at private weather forecaster BAMWX, according to ZeroHedge. The storm will then begin to accumulate snow in the northern plains and Upper Midwest. In places like Des Moines, southeast Canada, Milwaukee, and Chicago, the storm will bring ice along with it. Severe weather and excessive rainfall are predicted to occur between the Tennessee Valley and the Arkansas–Los Angeles–Texas regions.
