Authorities in Germany said six people beat and hospitalized a 17-year-old girl who apparently refused to wear a face mask on a train in Berlin. The girl told police that a dispute escalated after she said she wouldn’t wear a mask in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg, officials told Die Welt. The unidentified girl was traveling with her friends and was told that it is a legal requirement to wear the mask, officials told the paper. Police said that once the girl left the train, three men and three women attacked, punched, kicked, and tore out some of her hair. She was later hospitalized as a result of her injuries, officials said. Police officers later detained three men—aged 42, 44, and 51—in connection to the incident, officials told local outlets.
