Police are investigating after a shooting early Saturday at a council member’s home in Gilroy, California, left one person dead and three people injured. Gilroy Police said in a statement that the department received a 911 call around 12:55 a.m. on Saturday reporting a shooting at the 400 block of Las Animas Avenue in Gilroy. Upon arriving at the scene, they encountered a large outdoor party and learned that there was an “altercation” where at least one person fired a gun. “Officers determined there were a total of four shooting victims during the altercation. One male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other victims were transported to local hospitals, two with life-threatening injuries,” the department said.
